DESCRIPTION:This is a Live Online Zoom Workshop with Material Kit Provided \nSaturday January 18 – Random Woven Birds Nest Basket \n10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nFee: $120 + GST = $126.00\nShipping Cost: $22 flat rate within Canada \nRandom weave is one of my favourite styles of baskets. The structure is beautiful\, reminding one of bird’s nests. It is strong\, durable and lends itself to sculptural forms in both small and large scale. We will discuss several ways of approaching this technique. Discussion will cover how to harvest and forage for other plant materials suitable for this technique.\nA materials kit will be provided consisting of dyed round reed for the construction of this basket. \nTo Register Fill Out This Form \nKits will be mailed to you with an additional cost of $22 within Canada. \nIf you live locally you can arrange to pick the kit up at my home.\nYour address details can be provided to me in an email once your registration is confirmed. \nAt this time\, due to shipping logistics I am limiting registrants to within Canada. \nPlease note that these workshops are popular\, and classes are kept small to ensure individual attention as we make this basket together on Zoom. \nNote that refunds for cancellations are not possible once your kit has been mailed.

This course will begin with a discussion covering how to harvest and prepare local tree barks. A materials kit will be provided which will include willow bark and red cedar bark along with waxed thread for twining. Participants will weave their basket using plaiting\, and twining techniques.
