DESCRIPTION:This is a Live Online Zoom Workshop with Material Kit Provided. \nSunday February 1\, 2026\n10:00am – 3:00pm (Pacific Standard Time)\nFee: $140 + GST = $147.00\nShipping Cost: $16.00 flat rate within Canada. \nThis ancient stitching technique has been used to make pouches and bags in many parts of the world. In this workshop\, participants will start by learning design variations of knotless netting using waxed threads worked over a smooth stone – thus Dressing a Stone. The second project will be creating a Small Pouch with the option of making it into a necklace. Traditionally this style of basket was made with plant fibre cordage. Included in the material kit will be a small bundle of daylily leaves so we can cover the process of making Cordage. Great for beginners. \nTo Register Fill Out This Form \nKits will be mailed to you with an additional cost of $16 within Canada. \nIf you live locally you can arrange to pick the kit up at my home. \nOnce your registration is confirmed by email and payment completed\, I will collect your mailing address so I can ship the supplies as soon as possible.\nAt this time\, due to shipping logistics I am limiting registrants to within Canada. \nPlease note that these workshops are popular\, and classes are kept small to ensure individual attention. \nNote that refunds for cancellations are not possible once your kit has been mailed.

Discussion and demonstrations will cover how to harvest and prepare these locally foraged materials. Perhaps I will run the class again and if so\, I will contact you with first chance to register! \nSaturday February 14\, 2026\n9:30am – 4:30pm\nFee: $185 + GST = $194.25 \nI’ve been teaching the Cat’s Head Basket for many years and love the results students achieve. This time you will be guided through the process of creating a version of the “Cat’s Head” basket woven with Willow and Cedar bark. This basket has a distinctive shape and has a continuous twill pattern adding to its elegance. It starts with a square base and moves to a round form which sits on four-pointed base corners. The size is approximately 4.5” round x 5.5” high. \nTo Register Fill Out This Form \nThis is not a beginner basket. Suitable for those with some weaving experience. \nRegistration is taken on a first come basis. \nOnce you fill out the Form\, confirmation of your registration will follow in an email from Joan\, which will include details on methods of payment.  (E-Transfer) \nIf Registration fills up\, you can still fill out the Form and you will be automatically be placed on the Waitlist.
