Day Two: Willow Bark Diagonal Plaited Baskets

We’ll begin with a discussion and hands on demonstration of how to harvest, peel and prepare willow bark. We will be exploring two different styles of Diagonal Plaiting. First, participants will weave a square desktop storage basket with their strips of willow bark. Secondly, we will weave a  wallet size flat pouch perfect for holding cards and notes. Diagonal plaiting is like a fun puzzle and is so rewarding to weave with this beautiful material.

Option to sign up for both days or choose one day.

Day 1 – Saturday July 20 – is Willow Tension Tray  – 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Salt Spring Island Lions Hall, 103 Bonnet Ave. Ganges, Salt Spring Is.

Registration Fee: For Either of the One Day Workshops – $140 + GST = $145

Weekend Special for Both Workshops – $270 + GST = $283.50

Suitable for beginners and all levels of experience.
